3D Reconstruction
The realism of virtual worlds depends on the quality--geometric and photometric--of the underlying 3D scene model. Traditionally, modeling is done manually, and constitutes a bottleneck, given the ever-increasing demand for realism and more visually compelling images. Since many models represent the real world, it is desirable to build these models automatically from photography or CT scans. Our research thus aims at building high-quality 3D models from such data.
